Afaf Humayun

Communications & Development Coordinator

Afaf Humayun joined MCYJ in early 2020. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities and Women and Gender Studies from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She has experience organizing with grassroots initiatives, and has served as both a volunteer coordinator and career counselor. Afaf co-created and facilitated career readiness workshops for Skill and Ability Education at the Washtenaw County Jail and has written for Concentrate, The Arab American News, and HuffPost. She currently serves as a committee member for the Ypsilanti Community Advisory Fund, and is an organizer for Narratives of Pain, a storytelling showcase focused on healing through the sharing and witnessing of stories and art.
