Tashfia Jilu is a graduate student at the University of Michigan pursuing a Master's in Public Health and Social Work, and will graduate in December of 2024. Tashfia served as a policy intern with MCYJ from the fall of 2023 to the summer of 2024. Throughout her time with MCYJ, Tashfia supported multiple aspects of our work, from policy to outreach to fundraising and event support. She jumped head first into supporting the passage of the Justice for Kids and Communities bill package, became one of the primary authors of a report focused on the impacts of school resource officers (SROs), and is working closely as a project coordinator with our policy director, Jennifer Peacock, to support the success of the Fineless Futures Survey project.
