Denita Dorsey joined the MCYJ team in October 2023. She is a Michigan State University graduate with an extensive background in community organizing, workforce development, and youth advocacy. In her previous role as Program Director for YouthDevelopment Corporation, Denita used a positive youth development framework to build and facilitate program curricula rooted in social justice.

 

Denita is passionate about fostering partnerships, increasing knowledge and skills, and implementing programming and policy that will assist communities in expanding community-based care for justice-involved youth. A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Denita has been recognized by the NAACP and other community organizations for her commitment to service and economic development in underserved communities.
