Heidi Frankenhauser joined MCYJ in September of 2019 as their Operations Manager, and was promoted to Deputy Director in January of 2021. She has a masters degree in psychology and years of experience in the non-profit sector, working with a variety of populations, including incarcerated artists, families experiencing homelessness, and veterans. Heidi brings a diverse range of skills and knowledge to the MCYJ team and is deeply invested in youth and adult justice reform. She has previously worked with the Prison Creative Arts Project, of Ann Arbor, and the IF Project, of Seattle. Outside of her paid work, she proudly serves as the Treasurer of the Youth Arts Alliance, which provides healing centered arts workshops to young people across Michigan.
